7, 8, 9, Friday, Saturday and Sunday – New Players Theatre Guild presents, “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” by Charles Dickens – John Jasper, a brooding, moody choirmaster at a finishing school in Victorian England, maintains a secret life that includes frequenting an opium den. His tortured mind becomes obsessed with a young student, Rosa Bud, who is engaged to his nephew, Edwin Drood. Consumed by jealousy, John terrifies his nephew’s fiancé and plots the murder of Edwin. Show times are 7:30 on Friday and Saturday, and 2:00 on Sunday. Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students. 7, 8, 9, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – The Sterling Fair, Sterling Airport, 121 Greenland Rd., Sterling, MA – Friday, 5-11p.m, Sat. 9 a.m.-11 p.m., Sun.  9 a.m.-5 p.m. –The Sterling Fair is a family oriented, community agriculture fair with the emphasis on agriculture and education. Admission and parking at the Sterling Fair is FREE. However, the fair relies on the sale of buttons, T-shirts, and ads to keep it free. Support your fair with a purchase or donation!  We like to keep admission and parking free so you can enjoy spending the day with your family having fun at the fair. The fair is run completely by volunteers, and with an annual attendance of around 40,000 people, it takes a lot of work to keep the fair going.  These volunteers include 20 members of the Sterling Fair committee and over 50 additional people who help setup, run, and clean up after the fair. 8, Saturday – Rootsfest 2018:  Celebrating Sweet 16! – 10:00-3:00, 100 Crawford St., Leominster MA – Rootsfest is a free community event! Roots will be turning sweet 16 this year and we are planning the biggest event yet! We will have over 60 natural and organic products' vendors! Samples! Free BBQ at noon! Live, local music! Kids Activities, raffles, photo booth, and so much more! 

8, Saturday – Farm Fresh Fest at Wachusett Mountain, 10:00-5:00, 499 Mountain Rd., Princeton MA – This festival highlights locally sourced products from farms and businesses in the Central Mass area and beyond. There will be cooking demos, educational talks and more in our Educational Tent along with Jams and Jellies, Pickles, and Relish contests and a special “Ugly Vegetable” Contest. 8, 9, Saturday and Sunday – The First Annual Sunflower Festival at Lanni Orchards, 294 Chase Rd., Lunenburg MA – 10:00-6:00, Admission includes Play Land for the day, a sunflower to keep, PYO apples, grapes, blackberries, (Some peaches, nectarines, plums, blueberries, raspberries are left). 8, Saturday – Worcester Wine Festival at Union Station, 11:30-5:00 - Worcester’s Wine Festival’s Grand Tasting at Union Station is the grand event for the entire week’s wine celebration. In addition to the 400+ hand-curated wines, the Grand Tasting will include tastings from selected restaurants, and a small number of handpicked vendors specializing in arts, retail, and more.
