30-2, Thursday-Sunday, Art in Bloom at Fitchburg Art Museum - The Fitchburg Art Museum and Laurelwood Garden Club are pleased to present the 19th Annual Art in Bloom from Thursday, March 30th through Sunday, April 2nd. For these four days, the Museum galleries will feature flower arrangements crafted by local florists, garden clubs, and individuals interpreting the art in our collection. Art in Bloom attracts visitors from throughout the region, with programs and events that appeal to art lovers and floral enthusiasts of all ages. 1, Saturday – Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser featuring, “Dueling Pianos” at the Bull Run - Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. And to help raise money for that honorable goal, they are presenting a show where everyone has the opportunity to have fun. The evening starts with a 3-course dinner, including salad, choice of entrée and dessert. 1, 2 Saturday and Sunday – Wachusett Mountain Ski Area, Cardborard Box Race on Saturday- It's simple, just create a 'vehicle' in which at least one person can successfully make it to the bottom of a short downhill course using ONLY cardboard, duct tape, paint and decorations and you could win some really cool prizes. Race starts promptly at 11:45 a.m. and awards will be presented on the back deck.  Pond Skim on Sunday. April 2, Taking better Pictures with your digital camera – 10:00-3:00 p.m. Are you still getting to know your digital camera and its features? Bring your camera and learn when and how to use special features, such as program mode, manual mode, aperture priority and shutter priority. We’ll also cover basic composition and best use of light for different situations. Students are encouraged to bring one or two samples of their previous efforts to share with other students. 1, Saturday – Saturday Morning Bird Walk for Adults at Broad Meadow Brook Conservation and Wildlife Sanctuary, 414 Massasoit Rd., Worceter. – 7:00-9:30 a.m. - Explore the sanctuary grounds in search of birds during this program for casual and novice birders alike. Come discover the immense variety of birdlife that exists at this large urban sanctuary. We'll teach you the basics of birding and bird identification during an easy-to-moderate walk along the trails. Bring binoculars and a field guide, or borrow them.
