8-9 Saturday-Sunday. New England Orienteering Club Troll Cup, a 2-Day Orienteering Classic A-meet. Come out and see! It is a competitive sport that combines trail running with a map and compass upon predetermined courses throughout the forest. A concert honoring Fitchburg’s historical contributions over its 250 years will take place in the Fitchburg Armory, 14 Wallace Ave. Three historical, uniformed bands of the American Revolution, Civil War and World War II will perform music ranging from Revolutionary War marches to big band. Tickets for $10 will be available at the door.

9 Sunday noon–5pm. Tenth Annual Bear Feast at the United Native American Cultural Center, 29 Antietam St., Devens (GPS use Ayer, MA). This free family-friendly event celebrates the bear going into hibernation. This is a ceremony, so women must wear a long skirt to cover their legs. The Holidays in an Italian family would not be complete without the traditional cookies served on large platters. The recipes are handed down from generation to generation.
