North is a 21st century acoustic band from Massachusetts known for playing
strongly melodic and rhythmic traditional and contemporary tunes. For the past
20 years individual members have performed with each other in various

4 Thursday 3:30pm-6:30pm. The Lancaster Farmers Market is proud to host a performance by Ron
Murray. Bring your tote bag for the local produce and other fine locally
produced products and bring your lawn chair for the music. Ron’s career
demonstrates his musical eclecticism: he is one of the few professional
guitarists specializing in the 7-string guitar, and he performs jazz, classical
and flamenco styles. His latest project, Vuelo, is a bossa-flamenco fusion band

6 Saturday 9am. 17th Annual Library 5K Race/Walk Center School Elm St. Entrance. The
race starts at the Hubbardston Center School entrance on Elm Street and is an
out-and-back 3.1 mile course on Elm Street/Barre Road. Registration is $17 per
participant prior to August 2 and $20 after August 2. The first 100
entrants will receive a long sleeve commemorative t-shirt. Awards for winners
in sixteen categories and raffle prizes will be award at the Hubbardston Center
School at 10:30 am, following the completion of the race. Participants must be

Machinery Association to benefit the Narragansett Historical Society of
Templeton, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary. An added attraction this
year is The Thousand Acre (Swamp) Band, made possible by a grant from the Templeton
Arts Council. The performance will include early jazz, old blues, vintage pop,
and standards from the 1920s through the 1940s. Named after the Thousand Acre
Swamp in the Quabbin, Mass., the band is led by Stephen Babineau. The
historical society’s museum will be open for tours. Hamburgers, hot dogs,
snacks and soft drinks will be available. So come and have some fun, get out in
the sun, and “ooh and ah” at some fantastic machinery.
