Saturday, Sunday, The Publick House 26th Annual Harvest Festival and Scarecrow Contest, 10:00 AM-5:00 PM, Sturbridge Town Common, Main Street, The 26th Annual Harvest Festival on the Sturbridge Town Common and grounds of the Publick House Historic Inn is a family fun tradition. The event includes countless local crafters, artisans, specialty food vendors and farm fresh harvests. The Publick House's Scarecrow Contest is a perennial favorite. Festival hours are 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday. Returning Fest Favorites: On Saturday, savor seasonal sensations from the regions non-profit organizations in the big tent and learn more about the vital services they provide for our neighbors and us. On Sunday, The Chefs of the Community take over the big tent offering their specialties and more delectable tastes of the fall season. Featured are some of the largest pumpkins in New Hampshire on display, musicians and entertainers, food, crafts and lots of events for kids. Saturday and Sunday, 20th Annual Open Studio Art Tour, Monadnock Region of NH, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. - Friends of the Dublin Art Colony presents the Art Tour each October during the peak of the colorful foliage season in southwestern New Hampshire. The Tour is self-directed, and it's free for the interested public. Sunday, Heirloom Apple Day at Scott Farm, 707 Kipling Rd., Dummerston VT (All day) On Sunday October 11th, Scott Farm will host its annual Heirloom Apple Day, a celebration of our heirloom apples, fresh, baked and squeezed.  Visit our apple barn at 10, 12 or 2 for a free tasting of some of our 90 varieties of apples and listen to the enlightening history of these unique fruits with our orchardist, Zeke Goodband.
